PWM in the entire region by hiring and developing the top PWM producers in the South Central Region.
Artie is also building a working relationship with the Global Wealth Management Advisors by reaching out to Complex leaders and other producers to “tell the PWM story “and
why it is unique, different, and advantageous. By meeting with UHNW clients, working with
exclusive departments of the firm, and interacting with Investment Bankers, Artie is advancing the
business forward.
ROLE- GLOBAL WEALTH MANAGEMENT
In addition to his role as Regional Manager for PWM in the Texas and Oklahoma Region, Artie also
is the manager of the Downtown Houston office of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. He was originally
hired in October, 2008 to start a new office for the firm in Downtown Houston. The office opened in
mid-January 2009 and is now near capacity. Revenues for 2010 increased 91 % and exceeded $10 million, while assets grew 50% to nearly $1.3 billion, in less than 2 years. Currently, the office revenues and assets continue to grow at an exceptional rate.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Artie began his career with E.F. Hutton in 1984. He was named Branch Manager of the North
Dallas office of the firm in 1987. In 1991 he was named “Manager of the Year” for the Southwest
Region of E.F. Hutton, leading to his subsequent promotion and transfer to Houston.
In Houston, Artie built a corporate culture for the office where stock option and other equity
business dominated the branch’s growth. In mid-1999 he was asked to join the downtown Los
Angeles team as Senior Vice President/Branch Manager, where he and the management team
endeavored to continue the office’s corporate culture and capital markets business. He and his
family made the decision to return to Houston with Smith Barney in July 2002.
After 19 ½ years with Smith Barney, Artie made the decision to focus on the Wealth Management
